Research Assistant I/II in the Department of Mechanical Engineering

Research Assistant I/II in the Department of Mechanical Engineering (Ref: 531063) to commence as soon as possible, for an employment until December 2025, with the possibility of renewal.

The applicant should possess a Bachelor's degree or above in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. The primary duty is to employ computational modeling and/or experimental measurement to study environmental issues, mainly associated with fluid flow phenomena. Hazard associated with typhoons, overtopping waves and storm surge will be studied by computational fluid dynamics. Air flow and wind will be computed and measured using advanced equipment like LIDAR (Light Detection And Ranging). A parallel project will involve similar computations and measurements in conjunction with maritime sports.
